    Bladder Cancer

I was told today the final surgical pathology report came in and the diagnosis was urinary bladder, posterior wall of dome(Biopsy) showed invasive urothelial carcinoma, poorly differentiated and urothelial carcinoma in situ. The tumor had made it way into the muscle of the bladder.CAT final report states there is or was a 1.6X2.8cm enhancing area involving dome of the bladder. The finding suspicious for neoplasm. Cystoscope performed to confirm finding. Cysto and Turbt procedure performed. Today Dr.stated 3 different options for my recovery. Too much for me to digest, it was a good thing I had a family member along to support me. I haven't decided which way to go. I have an appointment with a Oncologist to discuss chemotherapy first and any other options that may be available. Is there anyone with any info that maybe of help, as it would be appreciated. Confused at this point.........

    Re: Bladder Cancer

I had bladder cancer that didn't invade the bladder wall in 2009. I'm a survivor and they gave me 6 treatments of BCG which is live TB bacteria that is put into your bladder and you hold in there for a couple of hours and then you urinate and put bleach in the toilet since it is live bacteria. It was manageable for me and the only thing I had was an urgency to urinate because it makes your bladder walls have spasms. They gave me medicine to try to calm the bladder and in a day or two it was gone. I hope you don't have too much intensive chemo but it is better to get it done when the cancer is early and has not spread. Best wishes to you. Always write down or have someone with you write down what the doctor says and maybe even get a second or third opinion of the options for your recovery. Research always.

    Re: Bladder Cancer

Diagnosed early June with the news I had non invasive bladder cancer.

I was overwhelmed, confused and scared. It took me 3 months to feel like myself

I always have a family member with me. What I would say to you,

See what the Doctor offers you with regards to treatment. I would

then ask the Doctor what he or she would recommend. Think it out.

Don't rush to judgement. You can always get a second opinion.

I wish you well and keep your chin up.
