    Question bladder pressure--please help!

HI i am 21 yr old female and have constant bladder pressure for about 5 months...i constantly pee to try to ease the pressure which seems to help for a few minutes but the pressure soon returns a couple of minutes later. It almost seems to be a burnig inside of me around the bladder...or it seems that is something leaning against the bladder. There seems to be no ryme or reason why the pressure starts it seems to be worse sometimes around menstration but not always... i have been to the gyno and a urologyst. The gyno found nothing wrong. The uroligst tested me for kiddney stones, pelvic and ovarian cysts, uti's bladder infections....They alll came back Negative...and they put me on 3 various medications in case which none seemed to help. He also did a dicatherter and stretched the urithera and did test to see if the bladder emptied properly... all the test came back normal... I don't know what else it could be...if anyone has anything that could help please post...
also my friend was listing to the howard stern show and on his news portion the lady mentioned a condiiton that women general get that is not normally detected by docotors it inovles the symptoms of bladder pressere...she thinks it begins with a U or and E if anyone has any info please please help!!! thank you

Sounds like you have Interstitial Cystitis and thats what I have and there is no cure but there are treatments though. I think you should tell your uro to check and see if you have Interstitial Cystitis, You can look it up online also to learn more about it. By the way, Some uro's don't know anything about Interstitial Cystitis, If your uro give you any problems please find another uro, Thats what I had to do. Sometimes it takes many doctors to find out whats wrong, There are many women with Interstitial Cystitis that have been battling with doctors for yrs before they were diagnos with (IC) and there are women out there that is suffering in silence having no idea whats wrong them, Anyway there are men with ic too, But it affects mostly women, 90% of women at the most. It's hard to diagnos it wont show up on urine cultures, Ummm, Don't let any doctor tell you that it's all in your head, This condition is real.

Hi there ,you know it sounds as if it could also be a sign of a prolapse!! Have you been check for this....The uterus could be dropping onto the bladder causing pressure. It also becomes worse before your period because the uterus becomes heavier and swollen...To be checked properly a Dr must do the examination with you standing . Many DR dont notice prolapse because they examine the patient lying down and things can look normal till you stand up. Just another suggestion here but worth looking into if you havent already...takecare debbiep

    Hey angel,

Does your pressure and urgency seem to diminish when your on your period? For me it does, but it gets worse right before my period. Have you got checked for interstial cystitis- I think I have read that it is an inflammation of the bladder wall and it can be tested by having a biopsy or some kind of bladder tissue exam by the doctor...

My mom had similar symptoms (bladder pressure) and was diagnosed with adenomyosis - which is the opposite of endometriosis. It can be asymptomatic - but the bladder pressure is a common symptom. Also, it is hard to diagnose and usually one of the last things a dr will check for. You may be a little young for it - but thought i'd mention it. Maybe you can ask your dr about it. Best to you...

that is exactly what my case is... about the period. It is just so funny that there are many women who have these exact same symptoms, yet no doctor can figure out what the cause of it is!

    Re: bladder pressure--please help!

I get the same thing, but until now, i believed the pressure was my cervix. A few days prior to my period i would feel as though something was pulling down on my cervix. It wasn't ever painful that i needed to see a doctor, but i could feel the pressure you speak of.

I got this pressure again last friday and thought it was just the usual thing, but then my entire area around my privates was so painful that i could hardly sit down. I imagined the pain and tenderness would feel exactly like a woman who had just given birth to a BIG baby. I also had severe skin tenderness from the waist down then it goes away and reoccurs at another part of my body. As it was a long weekend here, i couldn't see my doc till yesterday when he informed me that it was a bladder infection. I've never had any problems with my bladder and it's the most painful thing to go through. It didn't help that i didn't have any of the typical symptoms which women seem to commonly get.

    Looking for Angela24k.. Reagarding IC
I am in the process of starting to be screened for it. @ uros insist I do not have it but I have the feeling of needing to pitty all the time. As soon as I go, I feel I have to go again. I can take a pyrdodim and feel fine for a few days. I even went to urogyn that is vamialiar with IC. He said he does not feel I have it. I am a mental mess. I also made an appntm with one of the top 10 IC specialists in the country for next Friday. I amhoping to get some answers. Did you have the hydo/cysto test to show IC? It is 90% accurate so I would like to get it done for peace of mind. I also was wondering hwo you are doing. do you take anything? I do not have the usual pain of IC so I am very greateful for that. Thanks

    Marlana
