    Baylee,

I am so glad your sister is doing well and you had a nice visit. Don't you wish you could stay about a month?
My dad is doing ok he had to have an angioplasty about a month ago. He is 62 I wish he could retire but it will have to wait until he is 65. right now his work is slow so he has been able to work Monday- thursady and have a 3 day weekend. That is nice he needs the rest.

As for his bladder so far so good we are coming up on two years cancer free that seems like a great milestone to me.

I hope everyone else is doing well would love an update.

Baylee you are always in my thoughts and prayers also. Have a great Day.

Re: looking for information on bladder cancer

I recently had a CT scan done for kidney stones and they noted an area that had some thickening of the bladder wall, I think about 5mm or so. I know I don't have cancer but I'm just wondering if this is something that can lead to cancer? Thanks,
    Liz

    Hi guys!

I guess I haven't been here for a long time. Luckily I searched for Baylee Bianca and found this thread.

My parents are in Florida now for the month of March. My dad was supposed to have his prostate biopsied in February because his PSA was higher than his urologist would like, but my dad said that would ruin his trip and he opted to have it done when he gets home in April. I don't think his doctor was too happy. Not much else going on, Hope all is well with everyone and I'll post back when he has the testing done. Take care all.

    Lorabelle,
You will be in our thought and prayes until we find out how your dads test turn out. It must be hard on you to wait until April. Hopefully he will at least enjoy his time in florida and not worry the whole time.
It is good to hear from you sorry the news is worrisome. I hope and pray it all turns out ok.

Hi Lizzy, nice name same as my mum. Don't know if this is any help but i was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with thickening and calcium deposits in my gall bladder the medical term is porcelain gall bladder, very rare and usually only found when looking for gall stones, i go back on monday to see specialist but apparently it could be cancerous and my last test will show if it has spread and if so which organs are affected so doesn't look good for me. if i were you i would ask your doctor outright that's the easiest way to put your mind at rest.
    take Care . Cas

Tina, So glad to hear that your dad and uncle are both doing well. My sister is doing good. Was planning another visit to Vegas when my husband surprised me on mothers day with a gift of a horse. Seeing as we live in the city and I have to board her it has been very time consuming. So I am aiming to get to Vegas in August or September. I hear ya Tina, will be glad when my kids are out for summer break too. Next year I will only have one left in high school. Hope Lori, will check in soon with a update on dad.

Re: looking for information on bladder cancer

    Baylee,
My Dad had a cystoscope the other day and thought he would be finished with them. I guess he thought wrong his Dr said he had to contiue to have them every 6 months for 4 more years. He said the cancer will come back eventually and we want to catch it early. My dad isnt' happy about the check ups every 6 months but better to be safe than sorry.

How is your sister? Hope you are having a good summer.
Lori how is your dad doing?

Re: looking for information on bladder cancer

Hi Tina, How advanced was your father's bladder cancer? When they first found mine in 2001, the tumor in my bladder had traveled up the left ureter and choked off my left kidney. The kidney was removed 3 months after the cystoscopy to remove the tumor in my bladder.

If your dad's tumor is contained to the bladder, his chances are good. If it metastized to his lungs or anywhere else things change. Once my tumor was found up the ureter, my surgeon told me I had a 6% chance to survive.

A short while after all that, it really spread bad and I went to Boston, MA and started chemo. I'll be cancer free for almost three years but my Oncologist keeps reminding me things could change any minute.

Good luck to all and please go to the best available Oncologist. You'll have a better chance there!

    God bless!

    MM

Re: looking for information on bladder cancer

    Matt,
My dad is very lucky he 1st went to his primary physician when he had blood in his urine. His primary Dr was getting ready to retire he told my dad you probably have an infection and gave him some antibiotics. My dad didn't think it was and infection but he took the antibiotics. The blood in the urine did stop after a couple of weeks. Then aboout three months later he started having blood in his urine again. He went to his new primary care physican who luckily sent him for a cystoscope. His cancer was contained to his bladder. He had it removed and chemo was placed in his bladder after surgery. We are very lucky that it was contained in the bladder, I guess the incidence is rather high for this type of cancer to come back so that is why they want him to keep being checked.
My Uncle hasn't been so lucky his bladder cancer was advanced, I am not sure how much but I know he had to have radiation and two rounds of chemo. He like you is now cancer free for about a year now.

I am sorry for you that your cancer was so advanced. Just remember you are stong you have made it through surgery and Chemo with such great results. Keep your positive attitude and we are always here if you need support. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
    Tina

Re: looking for information on bladder cancer

    Tina & Lori & All,

I feel so guilty it has been so long since I have checked in. Actualy will be leaving for Vegas in 6 days for a visit with my sister. It got me thinking about you both and hoping all was ok with both Tina's dad & uncle and Lori's dad. My sisters cough is once again back. Guess, I should be better use to it by now but, it always continues to worry me when it returns. Hope to see and update from you both soon as you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

    love, Baylee
