    Benign Lump and Tamoxifen

I had a lumpectomy 2 weeks ago. Turned out to be a benign papilloma. That's the only lump I've ever had. Hospital cancer team wants me to consider taking tamoxifen to prevent any future growths. I am 68. I don't want to take any med that I don't have to take. Are there others out there that take this drug just as a preventative? Thank you.

I haven't heard of this. I'd certainly research this. Will Medicare even pay for it? Lots of questions. You could also contact the American Cancer Society and see if they have anything on doing this.

Do you have the pathology report and not just word of mouth from a worker?

I've never heard of chemo for what you have, but do the intense research.

I had a girlfriend who completed radiation and chemotherapy treatments for a cancerous lump removed by lumpectomy. She was put on tamoxifen for five years as a preventative.
