    Mammogram - asymmetry in left breast

    I had a mammogram last week and I have to go back for additional views due to asymmetry in left breast lower breast. I am so scared. Has anyone had this diagnosis.

    It's usually a benign situation. It's not unusual for the breasts to be externally asymmetrical so it also happens internally.

    Thank you. I had a breast reduction about 8 years ago also.

    That's another peg on the board. Am sure that is part of the cause at least. My mother had a breast biopsy for what the surgeon "just knew" was cancer from several things that he showed us. We asked if it could be scar tissue from reduction she had decades before. Nope. Went in, cut the section out, sent to path - scar tissue from the reduction.
