Re: Male Breast Cancer?
i'm no doctor, and i would say go and get it checked out ...

but if it was me who found them, i wouldn't worry for two reasons:

1) male breast cancer is an extremely rare disease.
2) they appear in both breasts, a very unusual char. of breast cancer. Actually, i have many cyber friends with breast cancer, and i join a very popular breast cancer forum, i have never read that one was diagnosed with breast cancer while having lumps in both breasts. And if it does happen, my UNEDUCATED and NON-MEDICAL guess would be that one of the lumps was cancerous and the other was not, and they appeared together by chance.

HOWEVER, go and check it out. Nothing is better than a reassurance from a doctor. He is the one to help, not me. I advice you to schedule an appt. with your GP to have it checked it out.

And as i told you before, if it was me, i wouldn't bother myself with it.

i hope that it turns out to be nothing.

Re: Male Breast Cancer?
Sorry for the lack of response, KD - my guess is that most of us here don't feel qualified enough to say, "Don't worry about it, chances are it's nothing other than normal tissue that you're feeling." It probably is nothing more than something that's always been there but you've just noticed.... HOWEVER, the only thing to do here for peace of mind's sake is get yourself in for an appointment. Once it's checked out and you don't have to wonder about what it is, you'll feel 1000 times better and you can get this behind you!!!!!

If you haven't already, call and make the appt. to be seen!!!!! I sure it's nothing - but once you hear that from a professional who can better explain what it is you're feeling, you feel so much better.

Take care!

Re: Male Breast Cancer?
yes youre right! he said it so common in males my age, thats it 'almost' normal! phew. :bouncing: never woulda thought it. he said is common in males my age to have some breast/muscle growth which can feel like lumps. he said they should go away in time and not to worry about them.

Thanks for the interest/concern hey_all. i really appreciate it! :jester:

Re: Male Breast Cancer?
Hey, brother. I had the same thing, and was freaking out. Turns out it's normally just a "breast tissue" ridge that most men have. Become aware of it makes it seem like a new growth. I agree that cancer almost NEVER strikes both sides at once, and MEN rarely get cancer. I had rather large breasts and actually went as far as having a bilateral breast tissue removal for gynecomastia, and had the tissue biopsied. Everything was fine, but that was WAY overkill. I am majorly paranoid about cancer of ANY type. A regular doc can take a quick feel and be pretty certain you are fine.
