Primary care docs don't see "adenocarcinoma-in-situ" all that often. It gets them excited. Gyn/Oncologists, however, do. Hence, their lower-key response.
If I were you, I'd request that your pap slides, colpo slides and LEEP slides be gathered up and reviewed by a consulting pathologist. This SHOULD be standard procedure when one pathology report lists "mild dysplasia" and another lists "carcinoma-in-situ" because of the wide discrepancy in readings. Having your slides reviewed this way may actually result in a changed reading of the pap and/or the biopsies done @ colpo, and/or the LEEP results.
Since you are clearly worried, sit down and make out a list of questions that you want answered. Call the specialist and politely but firmly request answers. We here @ the Health Boards can guess and offer personal experience, etc. but ultimately, it's your physicians who can best answer - they're the ones with the experience, lab results, etc.
good luck.
