Re: lletz during period?
I had my LEEP (same thing as a LEETZ) procedure done while on my period. My doctor told me it made no difference whatsoever if I had it or not. (The colposcopy could NOT be done during my period thought.)
It also had no affect on my recovery, no affect on how I felt - no cramps or anything and I had no complications- - infection etc. And he got totally clean margins and the Leep was a success. Since my doctor is a gynocological oncologist and does a large # of these - if he tried to schedule ever procedure around the chance someone might get their period it would really mess up the schedule. I also think since he does it so often, he is very skilled at it - so a menstral cycle would not impeed what he has to get done.
When you think about it, you bleed anyway during the procedure so it is just a bit more blood - and the procedure is done SO quickly - that no blood from your period might even come out during the procedure. So it sort of makes sense that they still perform them during a period.
My doctor said he never lets someone's period interfere with his doing a LEEP/LEETZ.
