Hi, msbarbiq. Are you having a cold knife cone biopsy, or something done with a LEEP tool? I have never heard of doing a cold knife cone as an outpatient procedure. Particularly with it being a second one, where your cerivx is already shorter and I would think the chance of excess bleeding would be greater.

If you mean a LEEP procedure, I did have that done in the doc's office, and it wasn't too bad. I had very little bleeding afterward.

What exactly were the results from your first procedure? Was it done a long time ago or just recently?

When in doubt, it never hurts to seek a second opinion. If your doc is unable or unwilling to explain exactly why he or she is recommending this particular procedure and this setting, then getting another opinion would be a good idea.

Just saw your earlier post - I understand your story better now. So when you last posted you were going for another colposcopy - what did the pathology report from that say?

Thanks for your response
well the cone was done with the Leep tool last Tuesday, not so bad. A little uncomfortable but not as bad as I thought it would be. My second coloposcopy, last month, showed CIN 2. Last time I had CIN3 removed in September of last year, showed clear margins. So now I am waiting for results again hoping for good news. I just don't know how come it came back so fast :/

No, my situation was different. I had adenocarcinoma in situ but wasn't able to remove it with a LEEP or a cone, so it had to be a hysterectomy for me. :-(

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get good results from your cone.
