Re: Colon Cancer With Mets To Lung
Hello Coping
I am sorry to hear your grandfather is having such a rough time of it. It sounds like you are talking about secondary lung cancer ( or mets to the lung). The primary was the colon. Secondaries can sometimes appear quite a few years on from the original diagnosis, often appearing in other organs like the liver too.
It is never good news to hear the cancer has come back but please be reasured that there are many survivors on this board who can give you lots of advice.
There are treatments out there for mets to lung, usually chemo and even surgery. I am sorry I cannot offer any more info than that. Only other thing I can say is that I often look at website called something like dipex where you can view stories by cancer survivors. I have read one lady's story who is something like 7 years post diagnosis and has survived mets to lung and liver through surgery and chemo.
It also sounds like your grandad did not like the idea of having chemo last time round. Do please try and encourage him to help the doctors help him. Its a great help if someone can go with him on visits to the docs too.
i wish you luck
regards
ktee
