Hi all. My Grandma has stage 4 colon cancer. Due to her age she couldn't have surgery but did have radiation. Which I thought almost killed her. She is 86. They just did another colonoscopy and said the cancer is gone. But she is soooo sick and unresponsive they FINALLY admitted her into the hospital. They also say she has colitis. Is there a certain kind you can get due to the radiation? Is this a usual symptom? They put an iv into her neck and she is so out of it. She also had the green puss on the first colonoscopy months ago. Was this colonitis back then and not treated? Green and ***** on the pic.
ANyway pls let me know any idea about this. I want to study the colitis more but it appears there are different kinds.
Thanks in advance
Deena

Re: New

I'm sorry your grandmother is going thru so much.

Radiation can be tough, it does take alot out of you, but your grandmother should recover from it. It may just take a fews weeks to get her strength and energy back. I'm sorry I can't help with colitis, hopefully someone else with more knowledge on this subject will be along soon.

Hope your grandmother feels better soon.

Lee

Re: New

I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Radiation can be very debilitating and it usually takes a few weeks to recover from its effects. Some effects tend to remain. I am glad she has been admitted so that appropriate treatment can be given for the colitis. She is one brave lady! I wish her well. Do let us know how she progresses.

Love and prayers,
