Describe your chest pain
I haven't been diagnosed with anything except LPR/reflux, though haven't really had any tests. I have sharp shooting pains in my chest, and it's worse at night and when I lie down. It doesn't correlate with eating. My breast bone has tender spots when I press on it on the front side of my body. It feels like a dull sore achy when I press on those spots. Also sometimes my ribs feel achy to a lesser degree. It's been that way for 7 months. Help! Does that sound like cancer?

Re: Describe your chest pain
Have you had an endoscopy? That would rule out cancer. I have had reflux and gerd for many years and this can also cause sharp pain in that area. It could also be inflammation of the rib cage or osteoarthritis in the spine.

Thus there are many conditions that could be causing your pain. Remember that cancer of the esophagus is rare. Making an appointment with your gastroenterologist is an option you might consider. Good luck! ;)
