Ayre how is your dad?

I ran across your post again and was wondering how your dad is doing?

My dad never started treatment for NSCLC with mets to abdomen and bones and is resisting hospice. So, he is on an IV and has a feeding tube through his nose. He hasn't eaten in a few weeks and now can't because his mouth has become very painful for some reason. Possibly from the antibiotics he was on earlier. The doctors don't know what to do now. It's like he can't admit how sick he is and hopes it will all go away. We just take it day by day. He is in an acute care hospital.

Is your dad at home or in a care facility? I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you and hope your situation gets better for you and your dad.

Re: Ayre how is your dad?

He's....ok. He's eating on and off. They've taken him off ensure now because it's too creamy and causes too much phlegm and put him on some other stuff that is prescription....starts with a C my step mom said but I don't know the name. He's tired a lot. Not really much else to report right now. He's back on antibiotics because he was congested and had an on and off fever for two days so his palliative care nurse put him on it. Thanks so much for thinking of us!
