Question My Mom had Whipple 3 months ago

My Mom was diagnosed with stage 2B pancreatic cancer this past August. She had the whipple done March 15th. She did well for the first 2 days after ssurgery then she began to bleed from an artery and CPR had to be performed then the artery was repaired. She spent almost a month in the hospital. She has had two other hospital stays since. One for fluid build up in her abdomen and anotheer drain had to be placed and the other for what the found just to be swelling and scar tissue from healing. She has lost a significant amount of weight and can barely eat. She still seems to be in alot of pain. Even though they have not found anything and say she is very lucky because they got all of the cancer out I am very concerned. She seems to be getting tired and giving up on life. Is this normal? How long should I expect healing to take? She seems to also be at a low cognitive level. Is this form the exaustion of surgery or should I be worried that it is permanant from when she had to be revived? Anyone who has dealt with the surgery and after effects before please comment and give me your input. We have yet to get any information from someone who has went through this before and we are just looking for some answers.
