How successful is tumor surgery?

My father has a small tumor near his liver. Will an operation to remove the tumor save his life? How successful is the operation? Father's age: 60

Re: How successful is tumor surgery?

Hello, I had a large benign tumor on my liver and it was removed last year by laproscopic suregery. It is very possible he will be ok having a laproscopic procedure b/c its less invasive. I had half my liver removed and did very well. I was 34 years old but it was such a large tumor and the tumor had started bleeding. I was very lucky and feel so blessed to be here. My tumor was caused from being on the birth control pill for a long time. I had no idea that would cause that. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any questions.
