Back pain on 5 mg, daily Cialis

I'm currently 9 weeks post-radical laparoscopic prostate surgery with nerve sparing. The doc prescribed daily 5 mg. Cialis to help restore blood flow. The first few weeks everything was fine, but for the last few weeks, I developed lower back pain and soreness in my right calf. I have read these are some of the side effects of Cialis. I do not want to take Advil/Tylenol etc for pain relief. I've though about stopping the Cialis for a few days to see if that makes a difference. My question is- do Viagra or Levitra have theses side effects, and secondly, are they suitable for blood flow restoration?

My doc prescribed only 2 or 3 times a week. Not every day. I occasionally took a break.

Re: Back pain on 5 mg, daily Cialis

I had been experimenting with sildenafil for my BPH before my RP. When I had my cath out, I asked my uro/surgeon if I should take 20 mg sildenafil daily to aid in blood flow and erection recovery. He said there was no evidence that this work, but it was now generic and cheap and it wouldn't do any harm. I took it for a few weeks while I was regaining continence, but soon found erections were good with a larger dose on demand, and I stopped with the 20 mg daily. Of course I have no way of knowing whether the daily dose speed up my rocovery.

I have come across no recent studies on the use of these meds after RP for potency recover.

    I was prescribed only 5mg, 2 to 3 times a week.

All the studies I read were performed with a daily dose. They are not definitive. It's considered a reasonable practise, but not necessarily proven, as I understand it.

The different ED medications are all different chemicals with different side effects and modes of operating.

If you have a bad reaction with one of them, it might be worthwhile to switch.

It is my understanding, Viagra is not appropriate for this type of therapy. This particulate therapy is to aid in healing post RP by increasing blood flow thinking it will benefit recovery from ED.

Cialis (tadalafil) studies seem to have uh... petered.... out in 2016. Reviews of ED-recovery measures since then say results were inconclusive or conclude this class of drugs doesn't work for recovery. You can certainly try, though.

Sildenafil increases blood flow too. That's how it works. It and tadalafil are both PDE5 inhibitors.
