Question Hernia after Robotic Prostate Surgery

I had robotic prostate surgery back in September 2019. For all practical purposes the surgery was successful as the cancer does not appear to have spread outside the prostate capsule and my first PSA test came back undetectable. I can still achieve erections, although not as easily as before, and have very mild incontinence.

The one complication I do have appears to be I've developed a hernia at the site of the large incision where my prostate was removed from. Does anyone know if this is fairly common? I had a surgeon examine me and got a CT Scan and it confirms I have a hernia. Is there anything I need to be aware of with surgery? Should I order an abdominal belt for post op recovery?

    Thanks!

I had an account under cancerforums.net but it appears that has all been replaced by this new site?

Hernias at the incision sites are very common. I have two that will have to be dealt with at some date in the future.

Get the hernia repaired. The hernia surgeon will advise if you need any devices.

Check your BMI and get it to normal.
