    Looking for guidance and information

Not sure where to start, but will try to keep this post as informative and short as possible..

Firstly, I am a 29 year old white male whose grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer around 70 that spread to his bones and passed away from the next year. This was in approximately 2000 so I’m sure treatments were no where near as good as they are today.

Due to my grandfather having prostate cancer my uncle (grandfathers son) started early screening for prostate cancer. My uncle was diagnosed when he was in his early 40’s and luckily they caught it early.
Approximately 6-7 months ago I began urinating frequently at night. Started out as anywhere between 3-7 times a night depending on how long I slept. I thought nothing of this until approximately two months ago I urinated bright red blood with pain and discomfort.

I went to the ER and they performed a CT scan of my abdomen, blood work, and urinalysis. I tested negative for kidney stones, infections, UTI, STDs, etc. I began having a dull aching pain in my lower spine about the size of a dime/quarter approximately two weeks later.

I am an active guy who has had very physically intense jobs and never have had an issue with my back/spine. At this same time I began having severe bouts of nausea and headaches. I would take medication to relieve the headaches and pain in my back but nothing helps. I received an x-ray of my lower spine and the results came back normal.

I was referred to a urologist and requested a PSA test which came out to be .32. I know PSA tests are not 100% in diagnosis. I was tested for specific bacteria in my urine and never received the results, but I assume it was normal because it was not mentioned again. I have not had an in-person visit with my urologist everything has been online. No prostate exams done and was given levoflaxin 500 mg for 10 days.

The levoflaxin has only helped with the urinating at night, but now I am urinating on average two times an hour during the day. I have had pain during ejaculation, aching/pain in my testicles, my whole body feels like I just finished running a marathon.

My feet are constantly sore and feel swollen, my knees swelled up after a day at the zoo and I could barely walk the next day. My last urinalysis results said I had white blood cells in my urine with a range of 21-50, leukocytes were present and they could not figure out the reason why.

The lymph nodes on the right side of my neck below my jawline and by my ear are swollen and throbbing pain that radiates almost to my collar bone. The left side of my neck has began throbbing as well and feels swollen behind my ear. I went to urgent care and got them examined and the doctor stated the nodes on my right side are about the size of a quarter and I was referred to a ear nose and throat specialist because I have no signs or symptoms of an infection and most likely will get a biopsy on them.

At this point I have gotten physical therapy for my spine once, which helped with mobility and not the pain that has started radiating down to my legs. My memory has begun to be very shotty and I have lapses in time or what I’m doing. There are times where I am speaking and jumble words in my sentences and I can’t form a proper sentence.

I will randomly lose my balance that happens frequently throughout the day. I have never had any of these issues before and it’s frankly a little daunting at the rate things are happening to my body. The last I spoke with my urologist she told me there is nothing more she can do for me and does not believe my issue is urological in nature.

On a side note my mother has M.S. and my sister believes it could be that. If anyone has any information or suggestions please let me know.

First of all I wish you the very best results in resolving your medical issues.
As a non professional medical person I'm only giving an uneducated opinion here. After reading your statement here I'm inclined to agree with your UR.
You have listed so many serious symptoms here that they point to something much more than a prostate issue.
I would recommend you get an appointment with an Immunologist ASAP as there are so many immune system related diseases that can cause the same symptoms you have listed here.
Also I'm surprised someone [a medical professional] has not referred you to a Neurologist already.

I would pack my bags and get to one of the top hospital in the US. Mayo, Cleveland, Sloan Kettering, or John Hopkins and quit doing online doctors and forums.

Although you do have serious symptoms, it would seem extremely unlikely that it would be prostate cancer, for a couple of reasons.

The first is your age. Very few men in their 20's get prostate cancer. The average age of a diagnosis is like 70. An extremely rare illness.

The 2nd is your very low PSA score of 0.32. Prostrate tumors large enough to cause the symptoms that you are enduring would almost undoubtably create a lot more PSA than that.

I think Southsider really hit the nail right on the head with his comments. You are way too young to have prostate cancer and your PSA is also in your favor.

It is far more likely to be something else. And I join the others in hoping that, whatever the problem is, it will be something easily treatable & curable.

Please let us know how things turn out.

    Good luck!
    Chuck
