how long to heal after biopsy?

waiting on genomic tests results which hope to have within 1 to 2 weeks. doctor said prostate has to heal after tranperineal biopsy which was done 2 weeks ago. said something like 6 weeks or more to heal? Doctor indicated surgery highly likely. terrified C will spread in this time. MRI said no indication of spreading. but father says he feels like symptoms have gotten worse since biopsy and wants it all done as quickly as possible. this is an awful way to live, waiting and waiting.

What is your biopsy results? A few weeks will make no difference. Decipher is just one indicator of trouble. MRI and biopsy tell the real truth of what needs to be done. Your doc is probably a surgeon and that is why recommend surgery. Make sure to do your due diligence. PC is a slow process bit the disease and getting treated. Hang in there. Denis

Make sure that he gets multiple opinions by specialists who provide different treatments. The same percentages of men are having surgery or radiation, so radiologists should also be consulted.

I waited two months between biopsy and RP. Had the same concern about the cancer spreading (mine had already spread anyway, but was concerned about it spreading MORE.) Doc said it wasn't an issue. He actually published a paper about it.

Re: how long to heal after biopsy?

My UR waited 2 months after biopsy before placing my Fiducial markers and injecting the SpaceOar Gel. I was not concerned about the waiting time because my UR had already started Lupron. I waited another 2.5 weeks before starting IMRT.
My biggest issue was the breakdown in communication between my medical providers and my Insurance Company to obtain Pre-Approval.
