I've had what I thought was a mole above my leg near my groin for years. It is raised and I picked it off like a scab a while back but it eventually grew back. I'm know I need to get it looked at but should I be worried?

Re: Mole?

I will always recommend having any unusual moles be examined by a dermatologist. I had a mole in my groin that I've had for as long as I can remember. Last fall, I finally had it examined and the biopsy revealed it was an invasive malignant melanoma. They removed it along with a sentinel lymph node and fortunately the pathology on what was taken out was negative. I'm in my late 50s, so I've carried that around for a long time. I feel lucky that it hadn't spread.
