moles a plenty
Hi,I am new to this board.Just was wondering if any of you have acquired dysplastic moles.I was not born with all these moles but seeing as how I use to look soo good in a bikini and have red hair, but could always get a golden tan;here I sit with all these moles.I feel like such a jack-***.I have two children and I loath myself when I think about being diagnosed with melanoma, dying, and leaving my kids. All because of a tan.Well anyway,do any of you have new moles growing everywhere?I am under a dermatologist care, and she just said all it means is that I've had alot of sun exposure. She does biopsies all the time on my moles and if they come back abnormal at all,she removes them.I have read that if a melanoma is suspected, you should only get a certain type of biopsy performed, because if they want to do the sentinal node biopsy after melanoma diagnosis, then the surgeon must be able to tell where the mole was to begin with. What biopsy is the best,I read excisional, and then I read contradictories of the punch and shave biopsies.I would appreciate any knowledge that any of you could share with me.I am afraid I might be having the wrong biopsies performed if I am diagnosed with melanoma. My dermatologist has performed shave, and punch biopsies on me.The scars are ugly, but with the scarey knowledge I have of melanoma,I'll take the ugly scars any day.Sorry for rambling.
