Weird mole.

I've had a mole on the back of my neck for as long as I can remember. I never paid much attention to it, but last night I noticed it was kinda weird-looking and larger than I remember it being. It's sorta strangely-shaped, kinda like a chocolate chip. I'm not actually sure if this is always what it's looked like, and I'm noticing it for the first time (I'm 31) or if it has changed.

I would get it checked out, but I have two young children I can't drag to the dr. office with me. It's just very hard for me to make an appointment. I'm worried about making an appointment for nothing.

Hi Ament,
You need to get that mole checked by a dermatologist. If you have to take your kids, then do it. It's much better to be safe than sorry.

Can I ask a dumb question? It's a rounded, above the skin type of mole (don't know the medical term for them). Is it possible for something like this to be cancerous? I thought I read that only the flat moles could turn into melanoma.

Anything is possible. I would still get it checked by a dermatologist.
