thyroid FNA results

Hi everyone,
2 months ago I had an ultra-sound due to a swollen lymp node on my neck.A scan revealed a 12mm thyroid nodual on rt side.A biopsy was performned that very same day. Results came back as Hypoechoic nodual with small calcifications. Also follicular epithelium atypical. My doctor seemned concerned and got me into a Endo surgeon within that same week.Endo surgeon gave me 3 options..1, leave it ans risk it spreading.2, have another FNA.3, have surgery. As Im a single mother of 4, i dont want to muck around so I'm now booked in for surgery 17th nov. However no one gives you straight answers.I did get another referal for another FNA but doctor said as they already found Atypical, its a waste of time.
Can anyone help with this, even if its just a little.I'm scared but also frustrated.
Many thanks.
