Necrotic Debris in uterus?

Hi There: I am 61 and have been postmenopausal for 4 years. I had enfometrial ablation about 9 years ago. Several weeks ago I had light spotting and my gyno did an endometrial biopsy. The results were what she called good news/bad news: 1. No atypia or malignant cells; 2. extensive necrotic debris in the background. Iím having a D&C w/hysteroscopy next week so she can can look around and take more samples. Anyone have a similar situation? Did it turn out to be cancer?

Re: Necrotic Debris in uterus?

Endometrial ablation basically "kills off" / scars the lining so that may explain the "necrotic debris." Also, if you have / had fibroids which are very common, those shrink and die off from the loss of estrogen after menopause. That may also explain this "necrotic debris."

Hoping it's nothing serious. Let us know what more you find out.
