    uterus cancer

I'm 70 years old had some slight bleeding, had a pelvic transvaginal, now they want me to have a biopsy, how worried should I be?

How slight is slight? And what did they say about the u/s? They may just be being conservative and double checking.

Both sound relatively normal. If you still have your ovaries, a bleed is always possible. One pink spot is relatively inconsequential. And 5mm would be normal. Did you ask why a biopsy?

No I did not ask, but being 70 years old, maybe that's why, plus there is a family history of cancer, but just my one sister. Also the u/s report said A discrete mass is not identified, not sure what that means.

Ah so....better info. Yes, with a risk history like this and a lesion of some sort, a biopsy would be the next step. SOunds like she is doing due diligence on this. And be sure to ask questions -lots of questions.

    Re: uterus cancer

Sorry you are going through this. 5mm is pretty normal for the postmenopausal lining. It is very possible that this slight spotting could be from vaginal or urethra atrophy and not the uterus. So, hopefully, your biopsy will be normal. Did your sister have endometrial cancer?

Let us know what you find out.

Had my biopsy today, not fun, doctor don't seem to be to concern, but won't know the results for a week. My sister had breast and colon cancer.

Good to hear that your doctor doesn't seem to be concerned. I don't think your sister's breast and colon cancer would predispose you to uterine / endometrial cancer.

Hopefully you'll have the biopsy results soon and all will be fine. Keep us posted.

    Re: uterus cancer

Got my biopsy results today everything normal, what a relief, I have been so worried since Nov., The doctor does not know why the blood, but said just keep watch and if any more let her know right away. I did manage to lose 10 pounds through all of this, I will try to keep on losing. Thank you so much for your concern, you really did help me, Thank You.
