Continuous bleeding

I'm 47 (one month from 48). Ive had on and off continuous bleeding for over 2 years. I had a biopsy 2 years ago, and an internal sonogram 1 year ago. Everything came back fine. I went on the pill for 5 months which regulated me,but went off this summer. Now, I had a period for over 3 weeks. So, 2 weeks ago I went back on the pill and now I'm spotting. Can you spot on the pill? Can you have these problems during perimenopause?

Re: Continuous bleeding
Hi, Colleen,

Sorry about the bleeding problems. Do you have kids? If you have kids and don't need to have more, you could consider some prevention method. In this case, I am not sure how.
Some women had pre-cancerous uterus and they took it off and kept the ovaries to keep the hormone.

If this bothers you a lot, you may need to talk to the doctor to see if you can try to get rid of this problem for good. Not sure if taking off uterus would help. The trick is to keep the ovaries so you still have hormone/estrogen.

I used to have lots of bleeding. I got rid of them after I got sick in 2000.

Take care,

Re: Continuous bleeding
I just made an appt with my ob/gyn because I've had 3 periods in a row with less than 2 weeks between. I had lab workup to see if I'm menopausal and it didn't show up that I was. My periods are lasting 8-10 days. I too am wondering if something is going on.
