Post menopause bleeding

I am 57 and stated menopause at 53. Have not had a period for 4 years. The other day I had a watery discharge, just came pouring out. A couple hours later I started to bleed. I was bleeding for two days, not a lot, only when I go to the bathroom. I made an appoint but because of insurance reasons it won't be for a couple weeks. Has anyone have this happen to them?

hi, yeah I've had this happen twice. what my OB/GYN was had me have one of those internal ultrasounds (where they insert device inside) to make sure there's nothing going on. I was fine both times. Cathy

Hi,
I was dealing with postmenapausal bleeding for a couple of years. Finally, after several transvaginal pelvic us, an endometrial bx, a round of progesterone, I had a hysteroscopy in May. My gyn found a very large uterine polyp which she removed and said that uterine polyps can cause bleeding. She also did a D & C while I was under. All pathology came back benign and I haven't bled in 5 months. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply...my mom died of cervical cancer so it made me a little nervous...although I was told that is not heredity...

Get it checked. I had the same problem and have endometrial cancer. Never let these things lie.
