In April this year I had CT surgery done on both wrists/hands. Was told about 6 weeks I should be well on my way to full use of hands but although I can type and do light housework my scars are still very sensitive especially if knocked by accident and I still can't.. when stretching (eg waking up)...open my hands. I have to keep them closed as the pulling in the thumb pads is still really sore and feels like they will snap. The other big problem is in the wrists themselves. They cramp up quite badly and I have to move them again to get rid of it and is quite painful too.
I am hoping if any of you out there have had it that this is normal even though I am now heading into my 10th week since the ops.
Obviously due to all of this I am looking for different work real light duty stuff now...as I tried one day doing van deliveries and in 5 hours my palms were on fire again and has taken the past 2 weeks to recover from that day! So the frustration is enormous at the moment and I am slightly hesitant with the type of work to look for and still have to think of everything involved in each job I apply for...even the things you took for granted..can be a real chore!
Any input would be welcome. I have goggled a lot of information and it seems to vary from 2 days after op to 1 year for recovery and what is the wrist pain/cramps??!!
Thanks for any info in advance.
