    Symptoms of Celiac disease?

These are the symptoms ive been having since the beginning of December last year. It did stop for 2 month in between but came back with a vengeance! Doctors have told me its just hemmarhoids and an anal fissure however im not convinced. One of my grandparents has celiac disease and another has crohns, im hoping its not the latter! Going to ask for a blood test at the docs tomorrow but didnt want to look stupid if my symptoms arent even pointing towards it?! Anyway..

    The symptoms:

Bloated Uncomfortable stomach after eating or drinking fizzy.. always uncomfortable by the end of the day no matter what ive eaten.

Loads of mucus and blood daily from anus, sometimes forces itself out so i have to wear pads but its very uncomfortable and makes me not want to leave the house some days but this happens rarely!

Anemia - dizzy and fatigue probably due to the bleeding bum!

Constipation - i have to take ducolax every few days to feel normal

    Occasional Cramps - not often

Hoping someone can help, thanks in advance

    Hi! Welcome to the boards

Your symptoms could be Celiac. There are hundreds of symptoms and everyone is different and experiences different symptoms or different levels of symptoms.

I know for me, it came on later in life and that happens with people too. It can be difficult to diagnose. And even if it is not Celiac, you could be one of millions of people that have developed a gluten intolerance -- which is really no different than Celiac with the exception of testing.

See how your tests turn out, and then maybe try going gluten free to see if it helps your symptoms. Not that it's easy to start with. You need to read labels because you would be surprised at how many things contain wheat.

I don't see how it would hurt to ask your doctor to test. He/she might as well test for everything possible as long as they are looking for answers. Especially since you have family history.
