    Pain in big toe?

A little background: I am a 25 y/o female with mild spastic diplegia, fully independent and ambulatory.

I am writing to see if anyone has had any experience with this. I have noticed that when walking in non athletic shoes (i.e. not tennis shoes) I experience pain in my left big toe. This pain is made worse with continued loading on that foot (any sort of cardio that places weight on the toes). It's gotten to where I can't wear shoes that aren't tennis shoes. The pain doesn't seem to be isolated to the joint itself.

I'm currently in PT for it, and the PT is dry needling my calves to reduce tension. However, the pain persists. Has anyone had any experience with this?
