Adult mild CP - Has anyone experienced drastic improvement of symptoms before?

I am in the process of undergoing intense use of my affected side (I have mild spastic hemiplegia on my entire right side). It entails me using my right side, particularly my hand, a lot, and also doing constraint induced movement therapy. Like normal full-side hemis, my hand is affected more than my leg. I have noticed improvement already in my hand function and weight bearing, and it has been a few weeks.
I am hoping mainly that I will have most of the use of my right hand, associated movement will go away, lessened my fatigue, and the pain in my left inner thigh (from muscle overuse - abductors) will also go away. I'm hoping to walk better and that my right lung will expand its capacity.
I am 31 so I am also trying to reverse what I can before the premature aging, wasted muscles, and the post-impairment gets really bad.

I will be doing this mostly on my own since my PT is "pediatric" and states she can no longer help me. I will be seeing a sports massage therapist occasionally. Not getting much support from family.

Has anyone ever done anything similar? I hope I'm not just dreaming naively, but I think the symptoms possibly can be treated by relearning habits, though being an adult with a not-so-malleable brain does not help.

Respectfully looking to hear from other adults with CP, not medical "experts" or parents or kids.

    Any thoughts or experiences?
    Thanks.

I couldn't agree with you more. Mild CPers like us are the forgotten ones. We aren't kids and were not in wheelchairs so I feel like we get the short end of the stick. I'm 38 and have definitely felt my CP symptoms get worse. I push myself to the max physically (always have) so maybe I need to chill. I know stretching is important. How is your range of motion?

Yes! I push myself too much too.
Generally my range of motion is decent, but with my legs it is getting tensed and boxed bc of the CP and bc I am a runner and should have been doing runners' stretches and such. Hence the abductor problem which is extremely affecting.
I think also I tend to stay away from core strengthening, because my strength is uneven, when I should just do it in an adapted-style. How about your range of motion?

I'm in your boat -I'm 44 now and aging badly-I use crutches (wheelchair for long distances) and forgotten is right. Rejected by 7 specialists because they don't know what to do with me with a right leg turning in badly -looking at botox for my hip to relax the muscle but god knows how long that will be as it took me 6 months for the guy to have a 10 min appointment with me. I lost 25 pds in the past yr thanks to a virus -best thing ever-my movement got better -I walk everyday now to keep in shape (hallways with bad weather) and that is the most I do as I think overdoing does more harm than good. It's just my Mom and I as a support system so I know what you mean -without her I'm on my own and it's clear nobody cares enough to actually help so I follow my gut and do what I feel is right. Wish I could offer you more but older adults just aren't interesting enough for doctors.
