Allergies, Bed Wetting and Constant Cough - I NEED HELP!!!

My son is 7 years old and recently went to an allergist that specializes with children allergies. He was tested with the stratch test method and we found that his worst season will be in the Fall. He is now taking Zyrtec (10 mg) and Nasonex Nose Spray. He still has a cough, dark circles under his eyes, and blowing nose all the time. My son originally took Allegra and Nasonex spray from his pediatrican, but it did nothing. I read from others in Healthboards that there is a correlation between allergies and bed wetting - my son still wets the bed and we use pullups every night - he is also a very deep sleeper - also my husband and I were bed wetters. I also read from the Healthboards information on constant coughing correlated to the chlorine in drinking water. Can anyone give me any suggestions and more information on allergies, bedwetting, dark circles under eyes and coughing??? He has had these problems since he was 4 years old. I need HELP!!! The doctors don't seem to be helping him!!! Thanks so much!!

I will add: My sons ped. told us when I was concerned about him being potty trained during the day but...not at night that it is hereditary (as odd as it sounds) she says it is true, he isn't 7 he is only 3 1/2 but being you say you & your husband were bet wetters maybe this could be it. My son also constantly coughed and coughed and coughed until finally they diagnosed him with asthma, breathing treatments and meds. later no coughing...

    Good luck

I was recently diagnosed with asthma and now use an inhaler (Flovent) two times a day. I now do not have any coughing, especially in the middle of night!!! Does your son use an inhaler? I want to talk to his allergist about using an inhaler for my son. Thanks.

Re: Allergies, Bed Wetting and Constant Cough - I NEED HELP!!!

My son is only 3 1/2 yrs. Before he started on meds he coughed and couged and coughed so hard he would wake up in the middle of the night, or throw up, phlemmy stuff. He had been on zyrtec for allergies - they added singulair once a day and it really made a difference. Then...every now and then he gets the cough back and he can't kick it, doesn't happen often, but then his allergist puts him on a nebeulizer for 2 weeks, using pulmicort and alburetol. He might be able to now use an inhaler, but I don't know if he could have a year or so ago??? He is now able to use the mouth piece instead of the mask for his nebeulizer, but it really hasn't come up that we need it. The neb. kicks his cough for a good month or so...
