how often should a 4 year old pee

My son pees only twice a day and then he really has a lot. The rest of the time he never says he needs to go even if I ask him. Should I insist he pee more. He has been trained for 2 years night and day and does not have accidents. Should he be peeing more often . What do you think normal is? I think he should be peeing at least 4 times a day. He drinks enough I think.
What is your thoughts on this???

Re: how often should a 4 year old pee

My daughter is 4 and goes about 3 times a day. Once or twice throughout the day and then always before she goes to bed for the night. I would say that as long as he seems fine, he probably is. Everyone is different and so are their bladder and bowel habits.

no i dont think you should make him go more....
i had the oppisite problem as a child, and if you make him go more his blatter will not hold as much making him have to go a lot!
if his blatter can hold it with no accidents, let it'll be thanful on your next vacation that you dont have to stop one million times to "potty"
lol consider yourself lucky!
if it concerns you to much ask his doctor, and have a urine screening done...but i really think it is fine

Re: how often should a 4 year old pee

My daughter is about four and she only voids about three times a day. She can go through the entire night without peeing, sometimes I have to remind her twice in the morning to go and pee.

Hello, I really think it has a lot to do with how much fluids they drink and how active they are. My son used to be like that. Now, that he's 5, he pees more.

Good Question! I was wondering the same thing. My daughter will be 4 in August and she currently goes about three times a day. I guess she is fine.
