My child took Aspirin...
My daughter who is 8 told her dad she had a headache yesterday when she came home from school. He had her take two of my low dose baby aspirin. He did not know that children are not supposed to take them. I tried to research and it seems like it's only a problem if they have the flu or chicken pox. I was exposed to the flu a few days ago and of course, have been around my daughter.

Should I be concerned? Is there something I can do to prevent Reye's? How likely is it to happen?

Thanks for you help.

Re: My child took Aspirin...
I am sure she will be OK. One dose should not do any harm. Aspirin used to be given to kids a lot; back in the old days it was all there was. Bad reactions were pretty rare. Sera

She should be fine.

I used to sneak and eat aspirin like it was candy when I was a kid, and so did a lot of my friends (they made it taste so good back then!). We're all fine. I think your daughter will be fine, too. :)

Ha I thought I was the only one that did that as a child! I've never had any aspirin related issues!
