Ketones and Glucose in 4 yr old's Urine
My *almost* four year old daughter suddenly began frequently wetting herself. At the pediatrician's, we discovered she was spilling 1+ ketones and 1+ glucose into her urine. This was confirmed by an external lab as well. Blood work from the same day showed that she actually had LOW blood glucose. Two days later, we repeated the tests (UA and blood) and all of her values were normal. Her incontinence has also lessened quite a bit. She has had issues with anxiety and the inability to sleep since she was born. Also, she was tested for diabetes once prior when her BG spiked while ill. Again, her values returned to normal within 48 hours then as well. What could cause EPISODIC ketones and glucose in the urine alongside urinary incontinence?
