WHICH is YOURS: Chronic Fatigue, CFIDS, or M.E.?
Now, Chronic Fatigue is a part of over 200 different types of illness.
Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS) was the name allocated by the first national organization, based on hundreds of studies over the past 25 years: there were obvious immune system and neurological abnormalities noted, but not in all patients and in all studies. Under their original name, CFIDS, neurological and immune system abnormalities were also included because they were a part of the original 1988 CDC definition of the illness they (the CDC) called, first, Chronic Epstein Barr Virus, then Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). A few years back, the CDC co-opted their (the CFIDS organization) mission by giving them an enormous sum of money and began a joint campaign to raise awareness about....TA DA, drum roll please...CFS, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Where did the "immune dysfunction" part of the name go? The organization stopped using those words all of a sudden.
To you researchers out there, I suggest three things: first, read the book "Osler's Web" by Hilary Johnson, the famous author of "Seabisquit"; second, do research on the original name for both of these (CFIDS and CFS), known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) named by Dr. Melvin Ramsey; and lastly, read the most current books, "Full Disclosure: The Truth About the AIDS Epidemic" by Dr. Gary Glum and also "Conspirators' Hierarchy: The Story of the Committee of 300" by Dr. John Coleman.
Then, you decide under which name you want to make your postings: ME, CFIDS, CFS or Chronic Fatigue (CF).
I believe this would end a lot of confusion over which posts to reply to, as then one would know which exact thing the poster is inquiring about, which would save everybody lots of time and trouble.
A good source of information are the archives of an organization found at another national organization based Massachusetts (you can google it). They have no paid personnel, it is all volunteer with a medical board overseeing their scientific work, and they are finding amazing things. Their mission is to go out of "business" because they have found a treatment for what they call CFIDS/ME.
They have an excellent newsletter.
Thanks for your time and energy.
