Question baclofen?

hi. my dr recently started me on baclofen for muscle spasms and other symptoms common to ME (CFIDS) and FM. so far i'd give it mixed reviews ... there's significant improvement in some aspects, but i'm encountering some negative effects which i'm hoping are only temporary. i started taking it in early June in very low doses and have been gradually increasing the dosage as my body adapts. at this point i'm at apprx 10.5 mg/day and am uncertain as to whether i should go off it for a few days and see what happens, or if i should increase the dosage (i can take up to 30 mg/day) and hope that this will address the negative effects. primary negative effect is dizziness, and since i'm inclined toward frequent episodes of severe vertigo, this makes me more than a little nervous.

so my question would be: has anyone tried this medication and what was their experience with it.

Re: baclofen?

I take a different medication that is used to relax the muscles at night. Most of these medications say never stop taking suddenly without consulting your DR. I think with all medications you should call the DR first and tell him/her about your concerns.
Fatigue is such a terrible and frustrating part of these diseases, and so is dizziness. I sure hope you find something to help you feel better without terrible side effects.

Re: baclofen?

Can I ask, what about your energy levels? I need energy, everything I take says dizziness is a side effect, and I do get dizzy if I get up to fast..but that would be insignificant to me personally..It is this absolute fatigue, that is driving me crazy..I need a bulldozer and a team of Merry maids to clean my home and I am ashamed of that..It is everything tho, too tired to even try to find a new dr that might actually want to try me on something that would help.
Good luck with your trial..I have never heard of this one.
