Question Fever

For the past couple of days, I've felt pretty bad. Our apartment building has been having heating problems lately, so I know that doesn't help any. Yesterday, I started coughing, and it's continued into today. I took my temperature, and it came up 98.5. I know that is in the normal range, but normally my body temperature is around 97.8. So, since this is above normal, would it be a fever, or is it still pretty normal for asomeone who registers at 97.8? I don't want to go out and expose my germs to everyone if this is the start of a flu or something. I feel pretty bad, but there are several things that I wanted to do today.

Take your temp. after you've been sitting quietly for a while, just to make sure that activity didn't make it rise.

I've been told to be concerned if the fever reaches about 1.5 - 2 degrees higher than your usual baseline. Doesn't sound like you have any reason to be too concerned yet.

Just make sure you wash your hands religiously, and avoid touching people. Tell them to wash their hands, too, just to make sure they don't get germs from anything you may have touched.

Hope you feel better soon,
