cold that attacks the voice box

Does anyone know if the latest cold it like having a mucus ball in your throat that you have to keep clearing and makes you sound hoarse and lose your voice. Raspy dry cough. It is a different kind of cold. My girlfriend got it first and I was around her on our vacation to Mexico and got it within a day of her. We have the same symptoms and it has been several days. I had just gotten over a month long cold and now this. I am not happy to say the least. This cold is different than the other one.

Re: cold that attacks the voice box

Greetings! I am sorry, my sympathies. I would not force the voice to talk this way since it can cause permanent hoarsness. I would rest it as much as possible. I would avoid sugar at least since that allows germs to grow. I would eat more kiwi, and grapefruit, limes, lemons, garlic and onions. I know the grapefruit may feel irritating to the throat at first but later it has a nice effect of helping a person to feel better quicker.

Peace sjb
