Revision rhinoplasty in Atlanta

Hi,

I had rhinoplasty about 6 months ago. I did research and interviewed several plastic surgeons. The one I chose seemed very knowledgable. Long story short I am not happy with my results, and I'm not sure I trust my plastic surgeon to do the revision. Also, I cannot breath now out of one side of my nose. My plastic surgeon said that he would do a revision for free within the first year. But, he cannot do anything about the breathing problem and wants me to see an ENT. So, I would have to see 2 different doctors now, and have 2 different doctors working on me during surgery. That kinda freaks me out a little. Also, my plastic surgeon said he only has a revision rate of 1-5%. Seems like he wouldn't be really great for a revision?!?

I have considered seeking out a surgeon who only does facial plastic surgery and is board certified in Otolaryngology as well as facial plastic surgery to do the revision. I have heard that a specialist in revisions should do any surgerys on the nose after the first. I just don't know what to do! I have found a few surgeons in Atlanta that only do facial plastic surgery and are board certified in Otolaryngology. They are Dr. William Silver, Dr. Burke Robinson, and Dr. Brian Maloney. If anyone has had any experience with these doctors, I would greatly appreciate your comments.

I would also appreciate any suggestions on what I should do!!!!

Thank you in advance!!!

Re: Revision rhinoplasty in Atlanta

hey,

am in the exact same situation currently, except i am a year out from my surgery.

i used a Dr. who was both certified in otolaryngology and rhinoplasty/facial plastic. Now, I am having breathing problems and he left the tip off to the right, which may or may not be contributing to the breathing problem.

I have been to numerous doctors before the surgery and now after as well. I also am struggling to decide on wether to use a Dr. who is purely facial plastics or go with another Dr. who is ENT(otolarygnology)/Facial Plastics again.......really sucks.

anyway, here is a list that i've researched and seen:

Samuel Mickelson
James b Orr
Robert a Gadlage
Peter j Abramson
Jeffrey Gallups
John p Connors(only Plastic, no ENT)

Currently, leaning toward Abramson but not 100% sure.

Who did you use for your rhino?

also, it has been recommended by most doctors to wait at least 9 months....and more favorably, a full year.....before having revision rhino performed by anyone

red0915-

Can you tell me who did your surgery? I'm in NC looking for a rhino specialist for a primary....the guy I'm looking at is actually quoting statistics re: his revisions similar to yours (1-5%)....Hope it's not the same guy. And I can't find any reviews by patients, although his before and afters look great.

I'd like to hear who you see next, and what you think....good luck to you!
