My grandson was diagnosed March with crohns at the age of five. Since there are no children this young with it, it is hard to get information about what he is going through and how to help him. He is scheduled in the morning for another colonoscopy to see what's going on with him. If anyone has any input about young children with crohns please let me know.

Re: crohns
My son has had Crohn's all his life, only it wasn't diagnosed until 5 years ago. He had two feet of his intestines removed last year. The doctor said his intestine was twisted and very bruised. Apparently none of the meds he had been on when newly diagnosed did anything.

My son is currently going to a homeopathic doctor to see if another surgery can be avoided.

There is hope that getting diagnosed early can prevent surgery depending on the severity of the disease.

I pray daily for all with Crohn's.

Re: crohns
How old is your son now? My grandson is 5 and currently taking infusion treatments every 6 weeks, they do keep him living a pretty normal life unless he has a flare up.
