    Deep Cleaning

I need to get a deep cleaning. I will be going next Tuesday and I'm a baby when it comes to dentist (which is the reason for needing the deep cleaning). I have some tartar on the bottoms of my teeth, and my tops are pretty good maybe a tiny bit on a few. Truthfully how bad does it hurt? I will be getting novacaine, but still heard that it hurts.

Ah, scaling and root planing. I have had it done in the past, and am a baby when it comes to dental procedures.
I was injected with Novacaine where the most work needed to be done. No pain during, however after, well. . . yes, some medium discomfort. Nothing too terrible.
Don't worry, you will be fine.

    Re: Deep Cleaning

Honestly, I had one done last I was at the dentist (as I have a huge fear of even stepping foot inside one), I had 12 injections in my mouth and I could still feel it. I do have sensitive teeth though.
That said, please remember everyone is different and what doesn't work for one will often work for another
