Question Still having headaches after extraction- normal??

I had all 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed last Monday. I also got dry socket but now seem to have pretty much gotten through the worst of that. I still feel some pain now and then but NOTHING like it was.

My question is - I am still getting bad headaches at night while I TRY to sleep. Is this normal and how long will this go on? I thought maybe it is because my head is down and that causes it?? I have not been able to have a normal night sleep in about 8 nights. I hope I can soon.
Any thoughts would be great - thanks

Re: Still having headaches after extraction- normal??

It's only been 5 days since my wisdom tooth extraction, but I'm also having horrible headaches at night and trouble sleeping. I havn't gotten more than a few hours of sleep at night since Fri. I'm still pretty I thought maybe that was causing my headaches.
I hope you feel better soon.

Post Re: Still having headaches after extraction- normal??

I got my wisdom teeth removed Thursday the 10th and I have had a week full of sleep... I've been taking my meds putting the icepacks on top of each cheek laying on my back and just relaxing...I put pillows around me to keep the icepacks where they were supposed to be... Even though I have been in pain all week I did get some sleep and if I hadnt I dont know where I would be right now 'cause I sort of feel as though I didnt get enough even though I know I've slept more thatn 12hrs a day...I have only recently begun getting the headaches and have basically tried to relax and hide until they subside. because noise really bothers me when I get a headache...the ice helps too...

Well good luck and I hope your recovery is well... I'm almost back to normal the swelling is down (thank you god) the bruising is almost gone from my cheeks and my eyes and the only thing now is to sleep take my meds and keep the holes clean and deal w/ the headaches.....

Get well soon
