I have exactly the same problem as you describe. I had a root canal on a molar about 3 months ago. It took a very long time for the tooth, the gum, etc. to desensitize. I can now chew on it but I can feel it if I press on the tooth and flossing around the tooth is uncomfortable. The cold sensitivity did go away, however. I, too, was concerned about not all the canals being cleared out so I went back to the dental specialist who did the canal and he said the tooth was fine. I have had numerous root canals and have never had any of those teeth respond in this way. I also talked to the dental assistant and she informed me that some people complain of various types of tooth sensitivity after an RC for many months afterward.
