Re: Crown Fitting Issues
Hi CB,
MY nighmare story with an onlay(partial crown) and 3 inlays and bite adjustment which I paid $7,000 for has been a nightmare.
I went to a bite specialist prosthodontist who I paid the $7,000 to.
My bite has been screwed up for a few years. He knew it didn't fit when he placed it(he did two opposite teeth at the same time). I even had my jaw X-rayed and the jaw specialist said my jaw problems were due to bad unnecessary dental work and ill-fitting restorations. The dentist agreed to refund me the cost of one crown approx $1,500 but then insisted that I sign a waiver meaning that I would never sue which on principal I refuse to do.
Visit my postings on the tmjd board as my jaw is screwed up from the bad fitting crown. I can imagine your bite is messed up too. The problem is when they keep refitting and adjusting nobody can tell what the right fit is including your teeth, your jaw and everything keeps shifting. IT's a form of torture as far as I'm concerned. I tried to get $5,000 back from the dentist in return for signing the waiver because of all the pain and suffering and two of mine needing to be replaced. But he's not budging. SO my only options now are to sue or report him to the dental board.
Have you tried asking your dentist for the refund --- she must know they don't fit. BUt believe me all these replacing and adjustments can make things much worse. But I feel horrible 24/7 from my teeth they are too short(all my rear molars were done with inlays onlayy) and they've just been shaved down too much that there's no hope other than to live in constant discomfort 24/7.
But you may try making a stink with the dentist and to unload you she may refund some money.
Good Luck
