Help with Tooth Pain
I know that i need a root canal in one of my side teeth. It's gray in color and my dentist told me, i needed a root canal about 6 months ago. however, the tooth at the time wasn't bothering me, except the color was kinda weird, and i also didn't have the $500 up front the specialist wanted for a root canal. despite having insurance, i just didn't have the cash and when asked if i could pay it off, i was told no, my insurance doesn't allow that.
so, now, for the last few months, maybe the last 3 or so, the tooth has been giving me pain. not all the time, not constant pain and usually, tylenol will help the pain go away. it seems if i eat chips or sweet things and that tooth is hit, the pain happens. it doesn't seem to be all foods, but it is some foods that cause the pain.
the pain can come every day or it can come once a week or less than that. the pain itself, usually isn't too severe, the pain that seems to be worst is the ear ache that comes once the tooth hurts.
anyways, till i get my income tax return in february, i need to just deal with this pain. does anyone know of something that might help with the pain? i'm going out of town in 3 weeks for business as well and the last thing i need is to be in so much pain that i can't handle things. i just need to wait a couple of more months and then either have a root canal or ask to have the tooth pulled.
financially, the tooth being pulled seems better at this point and then down the road, work on getting a fake tooth put in.
any thoughts, suggestions or advice would be great.
thanks,
