Mainly for overbites. You have to wear it for 12 hours a day (at least)

I have to wear head gear, not for keeping them straight though. I had four teeth pulled. My othodontist wanted the gaps to stay open untill my teeth were straight. One of the gaps started closing, so I have to wear head gear for at lest 8 hours to keep it from moving any further.
