Question can a tooth get bruised? I am worried!!!!

This is my first time posting, but I thought someone here might be able to answer a couple of questions. Last night while brushing, I realized that one of my front bottom teeth is turning a grayish color. It does not hurt, it not sensitive or anything, just a different color. I have had no trauma to it.
I cant get into my dentist for a coulple of days and I am worried that whatever is going on is going to get worse! I am wondering if the tooth is bruised (is that possible?), or if it is dead (which is what I am most afraid of:-(
Any suggestions to what it might be would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, a tooth can get "bruised"! Most of the time though, it is from Trauma. Shouldn't be anything serious, just make an appointment to check with your dentist asap.

a greying tooth generally means that it has suffered some trauma and is dying. Usually, the only ways to correct this are root canals and crown, although I believe that if it is not bothering you, laser whitening can help.
