 Re: what is a hard red lump inside cheek area
This is to clarify the question. My boyfriend showed me a very hard lump on the inside of his cheek. It is dark red, almost purple and the skin around it is normal looking. He said it is not sore, only annoying. It appears from the feel of it that it is a solid mass about the size of one of the emoticons shown. it has a depth of the thickness of the cheek and is located in his left cheek in the area of his lower side teeth. It is not visible from the outside of his mouth. He smokes regularly, and has for years. He said he has had the lump for about 3 wks. I don't know what it is, but am concerned it could be cancerous. Should he see a dentist or his family doctor??? any suggestions?
