Best Method For Removing Tonsil Stones?

Hello all,

After a few visits to the doctors, I've been told that I would not be eligible for a tonsillectomy. This means I'm stuck with my awful tonsil stones and the accompanying bad breath that isn't helpful when you're 21 and frequently dating!

I brush, floss and gargle with mouthwash twice a day and I eat pretty healthily but nothing seems to stop these stones forming. So it seems my only defense is to manually get rid of them when they do form.

So what is the best way to get rid of them!?

In the past I have used cotton buds (Q-tips in the US?) but this takes a long time, only gets the stones I can see AND it sometimes makes my tonsils sore (not to mention the huge amount of gagging it causes).

Thank you for your help!
